Purpose:
God has given us means of grace and forgiveness to reconcile us to Himself through repentance and faith His Son Jesus Christ—this is justification, to be born again. That is not the end. We are redeemed in order to grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ to bear fruit that glorifies the Father and the Son–sanctification. Both processes (i.e, justification and sanctification) begin at the moment of the new birth in Christ. God gives us means of grace for this through His Son who redeems us, and His word, the Bible, access to Him in prayer, and through other Christ-followers He puts in our path all under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit.
These means of grace are readily available, but many incorrectly believe salvation can be obtained by faith alone, without transformation to Christlikeness or production of good fruit in their lives. Dietrich Bonhoeffer referred to this as “cheap grace.” The whole of Scripture teach against reassurance one has salvation by a faith moment unaccompanied by spiritual maturation and the bearing of spiritual fruit.
This site is to encourage the Christ-follower to grow to Christlikeness in order to bear the fruit for which they were created (see Ephesians 2:10).
