In the book is organized topical teaching in two areas: (1) How to grow spiritually in utilizing the means of grace God has given us in His Holy Spirit, His word (the Bible), and access to Him in prayer; and (2) The fruit of maturation including overcoming sin, pride, and unforgiveness, learning to grow in affliction and giving, and sharing the gospel, making disciples, and “one anothering.”

This is not a “self-help” book. He calls every person who has chosen to place their faith in Jesus Christ to walk in Him, rooted and built up in faith, and be fruitful (Ephesians 2:10, Colossians 2:6-7).
